It has been a little over a year since we watched Nate Diaz in the octagon doing his thing. But for the last time in his professional career, we get to see him face off with Tony Ferguson in what could be the bloodiest match in UFC history.
NATE DIAZ
Here in the past couple of weeks, Nate Diaz has been a marketing animal for the UFC. From calling out Khamzat at the beginning of his sentence to disrespecting Dana White and Khabib at the end. If there is one thing we all know it is that Nate Diaz is a bad motherfucker. He may not win this fight but it will be worth every penny. Diaz has been dealing with contract issues with the UFC and has been turning down fights due to the sheer fact that he thinks he is a dog and should go to war with the best. Well, he finally got that shot in a fight geared up against a dominant force, Khamzat Chimaev. When it came time to weigh in Khamzat showed up overweight, leading to a shuffle in the fight card.
Nate Diaz in his last match battled Leon Edwards, now champion, but lost in a unanimous decision. He has not been at the top of his game by any means, but as long as his name is still Nate Diaz, he can put on a show. While that sounds like an old washed-up fighter trying to finish up his contract, he didn’t leave that cage empty-handed. As usual, he was leaking blood at an alarming rate, but he landed a lot of strikes and like always, fought to the very end.
With all the hype building up in such a short time, Nate is going to be a fan favorite tonight in a sold-out crowd in Paradise, Nevada, which means he is going to get active early. The love that has come from this man stems from his ability to not give a fuck and to perform at a Superstar level when the lights are the brightest. Diaz and Tony Ferguson don’t have a sour relationship and the respect level is at its highest, which means these guys are going to fight hard, not for the hate, but for the reason that their opponent has earned it.
