The Volunteers are 4-0, with the #1 Offense in the nation pushing 559.2 yds per game. This high tempo style of offense will flourish Saturday afternoon. If you think Hendon Hookers performance was special vs Florida.. just wait! This weekend will leave no doubt for all football fans that Hooker is HIM!! The key for our offense this weekend is Hendon ability to stay in the moment and not be over whelmed. I believe this will allow Hooker to put up a monster day with numbers approaching 400+ yd passing, 100+ yd rushing, and 5+ touchdowns. The line opened at -4.5 two weeks ago and has since dropped to -2.5. This would signal to some a reason to panic for the Volunteer betters, but not me this time. I’m tripling down in my confidence that the Vols will be victorious October 8th in Baton Rouge. Hearing Rocky Top all afternoon from the dedicated fans traveling to LSU, might kick in the fake southern accent right back into Brian Kelly.
Volunteers defensive line and linebackers will be key on the road. Favorable signs early here from Young. I love how dialed in Bryon Young is for this road contest. I expect he isn’t the only Vols defensive player that feels the same. The defensive line will need to win the war in the trenches and out physical their opponent. They did this in the Pittsburgh game and almost left the opposing team without a QB for the season. The injuries are never wished upon another, but this is EXACTLY the tenacity we need from our defensive unit. So keep being savages and the most slept on D-line in the nation! Just wait and watch them make the crucial plays and win the game for us this weekend..
Brian Kelly officially calling on all the local barflys and Tiger zealots from Baton Rouge to get off the bar stool and make their way down to the stadium this Saturday. It might be the SOS they will need this weekend when Josh Heupel and the Volunteers fly into town. I do expect some mishaps from our younger secondary which will lead to points from LSU. In the end, Vols have to much going for them and need to just stay in the moment. This game will be a statement win for Josh Heupel and lead to all eyes in the ensuing week 6 with a potential top 5 match up vs Alabama.
Vols 42 – LSU 31… Good Ol’ Rocky Top
