During Monday Night Football, safety for the Buffalo Bills Damar Hamlin made a tackle on WR Tee Higgins resulting in one of the most horrific moments sports has ever seen.. In any other professional atmosphere, this traumatic experience in which you have a colleague fighting for their life would not result in the continuation of your work that day. All that was present in that moment was thoughts and prayers for Damar & his family.
However, there will always be one in the group that has to make it known he/she feels differently or takes a different stance just for the sake of debate. I do agree that playing devils advocate for the sake of conversation is a useful tool, but this situation screamed differently. Anyone was able to read the room that was thinking outside of their personal feelings and motives realized this to be true too.
Timing is all the context that is needed here. As a veteran of sports media Skips knows better than to say this.
